Kingston Data Traveler Usb flash drive 64 GB

Kingston is one of the leading companies in the manufacturing of memory products including Usb Sticks. Recently they released a new memory in the series DataTraveler a capacity not less than 64 GB of data. It’s really a lot and we have taken a look at it.

DataTraveler 64 GB is pretty much exactly like a regular lighter. It has a lid over the USB connector, which you probably fritter away pretty soon. On the other hand, it takes a lot to a USB plug is damaged. On one side sits a small blue indicator light that flashes when working with memory.

Some special drivers required, of course not, but it’s just plug the DataTraveler into the earliest computer with USB 2.0 (for optimum speed, it is also compatible with USB 1.1). It should work in most modern operating systems.

According to specifications, memory, unfortunately, have no official support for Windows Vista’s ReadyBoost . ReadyBoost is a way to use a USB flash drive as RAM, and for it to work need the USB stick must be large enough and fast. When I tested it worked fine, and I could easily allocate 4 GB of storage space for ReadyBoost, for use by Windows. But because there is not officially supported so it is no guarantee that it always works.

To test the speed of reading and writing, I used the program Flash memory ToolKit and drove a standard benchmark. The program tests to write files in sizes 1 to 5 MB of measuring read and write speed. For large files, you write in about 10 MB per second , while smaller files will take longer. It usually is in the flash memory. The read speed is faster, around 25-27 MB per second .

Kingston DataTraveler DT150 64GB is on the whole, no unique USB flash drive, except that it is still not really common with a capacity of 64 GB. On PriceSpy is the time of writing, finding the memory for the user to SEK 1100 , which is a good price. Even cheaper is of course 32 GB version has become now that the 64GB has been reached.
